Two Colorado Senate committees debated seven gun bills in a marathon session Monday that went late into the night and produced some major gun bill spin.
Here how the press offices for the Senate Majority Democrats and the Senate Minority Republicans reported what happened on some of the bills:
HOUSE BILL 1224, limits ammunition magazines to 15 rounds
Dems: Senate Judiciary passes bill prohibiting military-like magazines of 15 rounds or more
GOP: Limiting Magazine Size Will Force Companies to Leave Colorado
HOUSE BILL 1229, requires universal background checks
Dems: Senate committee votes to close the background check loophole
GOP: Bill would place restrictions on spousal transfers of firearms
HOUSE BILL 1226, outlaws concealed carry weapons on campus
Dems: Keeping books, not firearms, the central focus on college campuses
GOP: Bill Prohibiting Self Defense on Campus Passes
