You know you’ve got a heck of a debate on your hands when the two lawmakers squaring off against each other over a sex ed bill sing lines from “Anything You Can Do, I Can Do Better.”

Ironically the song is from “Annie, Get Your Gun.”

Check out the coverage on House Bill 1081, by Rep. Cristana Duran of Denver, who sparred with Rep. Amy Stephens, R-Monument:

EPIC PROPORTIONS. Already hyped up from nearly two days of gun-control debate, the Colorado House Tuesday leapt into a morning-long wrangle over . During one exchange, Duran said, “Rep. Stephens, I answered your question.” “No you didn’t, no you didn’t,” Stephens responded. Later Stephens said, “This is just a Planned Parenthood jobs bill. It’s an outrage of epic proportions.” Story by EdNews Colorado.

GLTB. The debate got even sharper when it turned to the bill’s requirement that sex education be sensitive to gays. “When is it appropriate to teach homosexuality to my 7-year-old?” said Rep. Lori Saine, R-Dacono. “Every parent should be allowed to ask this question and be allowed to choose.” Story by the Durango Herald.
